  • ~Fruits Galore~

Since we've been trying to eat/juice so many fresh fruits and veggies, I thought it'd be a good idea to make a grocery list and shop the local stores, buying mainly what's on sale.  This week, both Kroger and Meijer seemed to have really good sales on fruits.  I also picked up some organic carrots and a big package of spinach.  And, since we still had some veggies left in the fridge, we stocked up on the fruits more.  Bob spent the afternoon, peeling, cutting and juicing alot of it.  He made a fruit salad.  1 qt of a citrus juice, 1 qt of a bit of everything juice, and 1/2 gallon pitcher of berry juice.  Plus we still have quite a bit of apples, oranges, grapefruit and clementines for the kids to grab and go back and forth to class with.  My plan is to buy as much natural food as possible and get them to snack on/eat healthier food, rather than convenience or fast food.

  • Meant to stop by and tell you hello.  Instead, I spent quite a bit of time catching up on your past blogs!

We are one family that would love your current grocery lists!   Big fruit and vegetable eaters, here.  Are you still liking the new opening into your dining room?  We are currently getting rid of lots and lots of stuff that has moved with us over the years.  I've given away a ton of games we will never use in the future.  Also, many craft things and cake decorating things have parted company with us.

I like going through closets and shelves.  It's even more motivating when my husband helps (and he has been this time) and I hear, "Wow!  This looks great, dear!"  I'm still hanging onto my avocado green bundt cake pan!

  •   If you ask at the grocery store, they sometimes give a discount if you are buying in bulk. When we were doing a lot of juicing I would get huge quantities of carrots and other things at a really good price.  I can't keep enough clementines in the house right now, the kids just devour them .  Blessings!

  • @AbidingontheVine - I'll have to remember about asking for a discount, especially on the weeks when there doesn't seem to be much on sale.....Clementines are a big favorite around here too...thankfully, they are on sale most anywhere right now....

  • There is nothing better than a GOOD orange or apple........and celery!  And radishes, YUM.  I prefer real carrots over the little perfectly shaped ones.  I do not eat enough fruit.  :(
