  • Flat BeanBags~

When we moved into this house

(almost a year ago already, Wow),

Bob and I went out and bought the younger

3 girls each a beanbag as sort of a welcome gift for their new room.

The bean bags are quite flat now and one even has a small

hole in it.....so, last night, Bob and the girls opened up

the bean bags and dumped the beans from 2 of them

into one of them to make for one full and poofy beanbag.

Yes, it made a mess......all over the dining room.....

    However,

It will be much nicer having only 1 beanbag to trip over

instead of 3 on the few occasions that I venture

upstairs into their bedroom.  Which I don't do often.

Because all the kids bedrooms are up there.

And most always, they are messy, messy, messy.....

and I would be hollering at them to clean 'em up.....

all the time......so it's just better for me......and for them.....

if I just stay down here........and pretend that all is neat and tidy upstairs.

Which isn't as difficult as you might think.

  • Beanbags tend to turn into pancakes at our house too !

All of our bedrooms are upstairs, I can't pretend because I am hit with reality everytime I  pass their rooms on the way to the bathroom.  Sooo...I have one of the older girls responsible for making sure the younger boys clean their room (the girls don't clean it, they just make sure the boys do). Takes the stress off of me from always feeling like the "bad guy chore enforcer" .  If the younger boys give older girl a hard time, they answer to Dad when he gets home. They are usually pretty good about it, and I don't feel stressed at all .

  • Hi Karen,

Sounds like the bean bag is a fun chair lol.

Here's hoping your weight loss goes well.

    Have a safe weekend.

    Linda~

  • I had to chuckle at  the bedrooms upstairs...our boys room is in the basement and it is usually a case of out of sight out of mind (or I try to anyway)and better for them and me! :)   Lately with the two older ones gone more and so fewer in the room they have been doing mUCH better. We tried for awhile the idea of the girls and I cleaning it for them but somehow it just didn't feel right to me and I don't think they tried hard enough So...I said live with it! I will not be responsible and the girls don't have to be either. It went better after that. Sometimes they pay their sisters to clean it now !:)
