Good Morning & Happy Valentine's Day!!
Just checking in.......we are all doing okay.....a couple of the kids are battling head colds, runny noses, etc....Last weekend was a rough weekend....it was the weekend Bethany would have been due....so it was an emotional time for all of us...kids have been having a rough time emotionally too...we just never know from one day to the next who will be having a bad day...some days are really okay though and we have a good day....so we take the good along w/ the bad...I have ordered some more books on dealing w/ grief, just waiting for them to arrive in the mail....I have already read a couple and they have really helped alot....
We have been doing lots of cleaning also.....decluttering, catching up on housework, reorganizing, lots of busy work......Bob has been really struggling at work. The shop he works at has been laying people off, and he never knows when he goes in if it will be the day they send him home....it sure has been keeping us on our toes.....and we are sending the prayers up that we will get through this too...so far, they have found him something to do each day he goes in.....so we are thankful for that.....
We haven't been doing much schoolwork....I have ordered some new schoolbooks for the older kids, so we are hoping to get back on track as soon as they arrive...
My mom is coming over for a visit this morning....she has some Valentine treats for the kids......and then this afternoon Natalie (17 yr. old dd) and I are headed to the library....(I am actually just driving her there and I will be waiting in the van) She has decided she would like to put her application in....a part-time position has opened up.....I think it will be really good for her.....and am praying she gets the job...and she is an avid-reader, loves books, so this is actually a "dream" job for her......Now we just have to find something for Nikki......she needs something that requires a bit more activity.....she couldn't sit still all day, if you paid her.......
Well, that's about it for us......I have been really cutting back on my computer time, and don't spend nearly as much time online as I used too.....I do try to catch up on reading a couple days a week, just too keep up w/ everyone's happenings.....but that's about it.....The family has been keeping me pretty busy these days....

~Posting a pic of a yummy cake that I made for Sunday dessert...Bob had made some bbq pork from a couple roasts that he had in the oven all day, so we had bbq pork sandwiches and Natalie made our favorite potato salad recipe....so it was up to me to make some dessert......Dinner was really good and everyone liked the cake........I found the recipe in a new cookbook that I picked up at Kmart last week......it has lots of recipes that I want to try out..I posted the link to it under my current reading......Bob told me the other night that he couldn't believe I actually sit down and read through and study cookbooks.....I laughed.....I love reading cookbooks.....how else would I know if there are any good recipes in there to try out or not....
The pictures under the cake are of Alli doing some potato painting, while Natalie was peeling potatoes for her salad.....

What kind of work does Bob do? Any other jobs available around so you don't have to keep wondering? Hope Natalie gets the job at the library. I'm trying to talk Darci (17 yo) into applying at Barnes & Noble or Borders. She loves books & not people, so it might work.... Cake looks yummy! I'm looking for something to make for tonight.... I love to collect & read cookbooks too! Hope today is a good day! ~Lori
